This is a good time to check on them to make sure they are still alive and well. Once the snail eggs have hatched, they will remain in the tank for a few days, and then will begin to move out of the water. Depending on the species of snail in your tank, the eggs hatch between two and four weeks after being laid. I put a plastic wrap over the top and poked a bunch of holes but it ended up getting out somehow and onto the floor. The snail that im pretty certain laid the eggs has been trying to climb out of the tank. ![]() Day 1 (right – 24 hours old) – The clutches are removed from the aquarium and placed in an incubator. I didnt want the eggs to hatch in the tank, so I took them out and put them into a damp paper towel in a bag of air. Eggs are laid against the upper lip of the aquarium. The newer clutches below were laid early morning May 4th (left – blue or magenta clutch) and the morning of May 6th (right – jade clutch) Day 1 (clutch on left in photos below). The only difference in conditions would have been the day or two they spent in different aquariums before being removed for incubation. however, the clutch laid first, hatched at 10 days and the clutch laid second (so younger by a couple of days) hatched at 14 days. The two egg clutches below were incubated at exactly the same time, in the same container and at the same temperature. A couple of factors that influence development time are moisture levels and temperature.
